David Prowse is a weightlifter and actor from England. He is most famous for his portrayal of Darth Vader in Star Wars Episodes IV, V, and VI. At his peak he was 265 lbs. and 6'6.5". He spoke all of the lines during the films, but his voice was replaced by that of James Earl Jones in post production. This is a sore spot with Prowse.

Actor Dave Prowse, who starred as Darth Vader in the original Star Wars films, is in remission from prostate cancer, he has confirmed.

The 74-year-old told The Daily Mirror he was given the all-clear last month after being diagnosed a year before.

Prowse said he had made a full recovery after intensive radiotherapy at a London hospital.

“I’ve won the fight and I’m feeling better than ever. Everyone was shocked by how well it all went,” he said.
